Ms. Diana Livingston Co-Chair- , has been a board member for more than ten years.   In 2004 Diana and then Girdwood 2020 secretary Jim Barnett formed Girdwood Inc. as a community non-profit to support upcoming capital projects and provide a vehicle for local nonprofit projects needing a 501(c)(3) base.

Diana has been involved in most community organizations at one time or another, and served three years on the Girdwood Board of Supervisors.  Diana’s primary objective is to help make Girdwood a better place for residents, businesses and visitors.

Diana and husband Phil Livingston have been Girdwood residents since 1979.

Mr. Carl Propes – Treasurer – has lived in Alaska for 38 years, 37 of those in Anchorage and for the last 14 years he has also been a part-time resident of Girdwood

Carl’s owns Scan Home, which he began when he was young and naïve in 1983.  In addition to selling cool furniture, Scan Home has been a vehicle for donating furniture to many worthy non-profit organizations.

Carl loves everything about Alaska, and if you don’t find him in the yoga studio he might be spotted on the Nordic trails, a golf course or hiking trail in the summer.

Mr. Randall Call – J. Randall Call and his wife of 40 years, Paula Call, reside in Salt Lake City, Utah.  Randall and Paula have four children and five grandchildren, although when the five grandchildren are together, it seems like there are many more than five.  Randall graduated from the University of Utah College of Law in 1977.   In June of 2007, Mr. Call accepted the position of General Counsel with Cirque Property L.C., and its related entities.  Cirque Property L.C., is the asset manager of Alyeska Resort.  Randall is a Vice President of Alyeska Resort Management Company and is the President of Alyeska Resort Development L.L.C.  Randall spends about a third of his time in Girdwood; either to work or because Paula just wants him gone for a few days.  Randall has been a member of the Girdwood 2020 Board since 2010, and also currently serves as a new board member of Girdwood Inc.  Although Randall rarely has time for fun, he enjoys fishing, golf, gardening, movies and the absence of pain.

Mr. Larry Daniels – Worked at Alyeska Resort for 35 years. Started as a construction hand on Chair #3 and eventually moved to Mountain Operations for 23 years and then managed the hotel expansion project.

Larry currently works as Executive VP for the Kotzebue Village Corporation.

Larry has served on Girdwood Board of Supervisors, Girdwood Land Use Committee as Chair; Girdwood Rotary and many, many other organizations.

Ms. Grace Greene- CEO of Totem Ocean Trailer Express Alaska and Girdwood resident.

Grace brings over 13 years of professional experience managing a wide range of activities from complex oil and gas exploration logistics, aviation operations and safety in remote Arctic Alaska, to business development and consulting. Most recently, Grace was responsible for leading all aviation logistics operations in the Alaska Venture for the Shell Exploration and Production Company.

Grace received her bachelor’s degree in Oceanography from the United States Naval Academy and served in the U.S. Marine Corps as a helicopter pilot and Aircraft Commander. During her service she held various leadership roles in Operations and Logistics as well as Director of Safety and Standardization.

Mr. Hank Hosford – Owner of Alaska Stone Care and Girdwood Rotary President

Ms. Lana Johnson A 40+-year resident of Alaska, Lana Johnson is a former journalist who worked her way through the ranks at the Anchorage Times to become the newspaper’s first female managing editor. After leaving the Times, Lana directed corporate communications for Chugach Electric Association and later became a public relations professional. She currently is senior vice president at MSI Communications.
Active in the community, she is a founding board member of Girdwood 2020, is vice president of the Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center’s board and sits on the board for the Alaska Council for Economic Education. Lana is the author of Alaska’s Perfect Mountain, a history of the gold rush community of Girdwood where she has lived since 2003. She also was instrumental in development of the Roundhouse at Alyeska, Alaska’s only ski museum.
She is a political science graduate of the University of Wyoming where she was a member of the ski team.

Mr. Phil Livingston – Phil Livingston has been a board member of Girdwood 2020 for nearly ten years. Phil is a high time pilot; skier; sailor and outdoorsman. He has owned a number of small business enterprises along the way and is now a semi-retired commercial real estate broker.

Phil has been President of the Girdwood Rotary Club, and is currently the AOPA representative for Girdwood Airport. His proudest achievement is that of grandfather: six children and nine grandchildren.

Ms. Carol MakarGirdwood resident since 1984. Retired school administrator & teacher of math & many other subjects. Currently owns & operates “The Ice Cream Shop” & “Bud & Carol’s B&B”. Enjoys living in Girdwood & takes advantage of its XC & Alpine skiing hiking trails. Also, loves Girdwood’s proximity to Prince William Sound for shrimping & fishing.

Ms. Sarah Mattingly – Owner of Faulkner Real estate located in Girdwood

Mr. Dave McVeighDavid McVeigh is the Executive Vice President and Chief Operations Officer of RIM Architects.  He has been working in the field of architecture for over 32 years.  Dave received his Bachelor of Architecture at Texas Tech University and returned home to Anchorage, Alaska where he grew up.  Under the leadership and mentoring from Larry Cash, the Founder and CEO of RIM Architects, Dave began his long term career with RIM in early 1986, and helped open the Guam Office in 1987.  In 2000 he opened and managed the Hawaii office till he returned back to Anchorage in 2007.  Dave is an avid skier and racer with the Alyeska Master’s program.  He is committed to the community of Girdwood and skiing in Alaska.  Dave is married to Jane McVeigh and has two children.

Mr. David Parish – David Parish is a consultant who has worked in
government relations, business development, communications strategy, and
community development initiatives in Alaska for over 25 years.  He has
worked with clients in a variety of fields including public health, non-profit leadership development, private charitable foundations and public broadcasting.  David has been a Girdwood 2020 Board member for eight years.

Mr. John Rense –has been a part-time resident of Girdwood for twenty years.  A great fan of the valley and the surrounding area, he has been on the board for a decade including a healthy term as Co-Chair.  John is one of the State’s longest-tenured Native Corporation business leaders, having served NANA and its subsidiaries in numerous executive roles since 1985.
Mr. Ethan Tyler – Ethan has made his home in Girdwood for the past 13 years, has worked at Alyeska Resort in Girdwood, CIRI Alaska Tourism, and through his consulting business, has worked with multiple clients throughout the state. Ethan is well versed in the Alaska business community.

Of utmost importance, Ethan lives with his wife and  daughter in Girdwood. He is an avid outdoor adventurer, and a self proclaimed avid skier.

Mr. Jon Bittner – Vice President of the Anchorage Economic Development Corporation and leads strategic plans to grow the regional economy through new business growth and attraction, supporting existing businesses and community development.
