Mission Statement Girdwood 2020 is a group of citizens who want Girdwood to grow and prosper as a unique and internationally recognized mountain resort community through environmentally responsible economic development. The overriding vision is to develop and sustain a world class four season destination that protects and markets our most valuable asset - our Valley's unique Alaska setting. Through a public education process Girdwood 2020 will advocate the continued evolution of the community into Alaska's premiere resort area. The organization's goal is to advance Girdwood's social, environmental and economic well-being through the thoughtful implementation of the Girdwood Area Plan and that plan's vision for the future of the Girdwood Valley.
