Other projects in the works Community Center Girdwood 2020 is working with municipal and federal officials to seek funding for this critical project. Heritage Corridor Legislation now pending in Congress contains $350,000 in funding for such Girdwood projects as converting the Round House into a public interpretive center and building a trailhead for Stumpy's Trail. Campground Girdwood 2020 supports a seasonally operated, RV-based campground that would attract tourists to the community. Title 22 Two Girdwood 2020 members serve on the municipal committee to revise Title 22, the land use regulations that govern development in the Girdwood Valley. Backcountry skiing Girdwood 2020 supported Chugach Powder Guides' application for a U.S. Forest Service permit to provide helicopter skiing in the Glacier/Winner Creek, Placer River/Skookum Glacier, Bench Peak and Grandview. Girdwood airport Girdwood 2020 supports limited safety improvements at the airport but opposes paving the runway or adding lights.
